Overview of the contents
The Lord promises to do great things when we pray. The following provides specific prayer targets for various groups of people, as well as a template for beginning a prayer ministry.
02 The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is an often misunderstood- and frightening, because of how it is many times presented- concept. However, this baptism is a powerful tool which Jesus has given to His Church so that she may accomplish His mission, as well as experience a greater intimacy with Him.
God actually uses His people to impart healing and gifts to other people- through the laying on of hands. Furthermore, this useful tool in the Churchʼs arsenal of spiritual artillery is actually (according to the Bible) one of the basic foundational doctrines. We, then, should seek to understand it- and implement it into our ministry.
Our words have creative power. By them, we can call into reality things that we see in the Spirit.
Jesus has a propensity to heal throughout the Scriptures- and still heals today. There are a variety of reasons someone may need to be healed…
…there are no “boxes” for formulas whereby we may understand how much and what kind of faith is required; and there are various ways in which people may receive healing. All of these factors lead to freedom in this ministry.
Jesus was / is life. Our teaching should reflect His life- and should generate that very life to the people we lead.
08 Ministry That Attracts Crowds
Seeking to know God through information, chasing for godliness through routines and rituals… such things do not 1) help us, or 2) help those to whom we are called to minister. Rather, we need a grace-empowered platform that launches people into a life-giving experience with each other and the Lord.
We often want to play a big part in our own story. When we determine to be a bit part in Godʼs story we actually find ourselves playing a bigger part than we could have ever imagined- and we experience far more freedom than we thought possible.
